As for the exterior paint, well that was a big step. I've spent a lot of time stressing about what colors to choose to make my home look tasteful and welcoming. I may be on a $10,000 budget but I don't want it to show. After months of searching and some advice from family I ended up using this house as an inspiration.
Something that has always bugged me about a lot of new houses I see these days(at least in my area) is it feels like people choose the color of their siding and trim then order the windows and roofing without any thought to if it'd match the colors they choose. I can't tell you how many white, vinyl windows I see here that look VERY out of place and VERY cheap. This is why I have been so hesitant in getting the cheaper, white windows but I'm hoping by making my window color and roofing material an integral part of my color choice it'll help not make them look as cheap. For example, Menlo Oaks has white windows and a tin roof yet it look classic and refined. I know there's more that make this house so welcoming than the colors and windows, but it's a good place to start for a tinyhouse.
