In complete honesty, the interior of the house as been moving along at a snail's pace. I think part of it has to do with the holiday season. We've been very busy at work and when I've come home I've been pretty tired. My big project right now is doing electrical and that is a hard project for me to work on only an hour at a time. It takes a lot of brain power to keep track of what wires go where(even if I mark them), the most efficient way to run the wires, and all the Googling I end up doing when I have a question. Even with a wiring diagram I drew up it takes me a while to get in the right mind set when I go out there and get everything figured out. For me I like to set aside many hours do work on electrical and at the end of a work day I don't exactly have that. The other thing that's been both good and a slow down is having John around since he's on holiday break from school. He's been very helpful on the days he's been here and I've been working. I gave him a list of side projects to work on and he got them all done. But at the same time when he's around I don't want to waste the little time we have together working on electrical when we could be playing a game or going out for dinner.
However, things are still getting done! The bigger one is the loft and its flooring. This was one of the side projects I gave to John and he did a great job with it. When I first bought the 4x4 beams for the loft way back in June I got a little ahead of myself and actually put one too many in. My loft was suppose to be 8'4" and it actually was more like 9'7" when I put in that extra beam. I finally realized my mistake about a month ago and my dad helped me remove the extra beam. Next John arranged all the 2x6's we milled for the loft floor and cut them to the correct length. It's made a HUGE difference in the feel of the house. My living room area feels bigger and has more light and when I climb into the loft I don't hit my head anymore. Before, my loft extended to where the red arrow is. If I was climbing up on a ladder I'd have to be careful not to bump my head on the transition between the dormer and the steeper roof pitch. But now, I have enough room to get into the loft without worrying about hitting the ceiling.

I've also started seriously working on my oak floors(which I've salvaged from old pallets.) It's been a nice break from electrical and it is a project I can work on for half an hour at a time and actually see a difference. I'll post pictures of that later though.
