Doing a soffit on a tiny house is much different than doing one on a big house. The main challenge here is keeping the house under the 8'6" width requirement. This translates into a soffit that is only about 1" wide as opposed to something 12" wide like most homes. After pounding our heads against a wall for a couple of weeks my dad and I came up with a solution that is actually fairly easy. Instead of putting the fascia up and then trying to shimmy a 1" piece of plywood up between the house and the board, we ripped a 2x4 down to about 1" and used that to as a soffit and to attach the fascia board to. It actually worked pretty well and is something I haven't seen any other tiny house blogs talking about.
