However, things are still getting done! The bigger one is the loft and its flooring. This was one of the side projects I gave to John and he did a great job with it. When I first bought the 4x4 beams for the loft way back in June I got a little ahead of myself and actually put one too many in. My loft was suppose to be 8'4" and it actually was more like 9'7" when I put in that extra beam. I finally realized my mistake about a month ago and my dad helped me remove the extra beam. Next John arranged all the 2x6's we milled for the loft floor and cut them to the correct length. It's made a HUGE difference in the feel of the house. My living room area feels bigger and has more light and when I climb into the loft I don't hit my head anymore. Before, my loft extended to where the red arrow is. If I was climbing up on a ladder I'd have to be careful not to bump my head on the transition between the dormer and the steeper roof pitch. But now, I have enough room to get into the loft without worrying about hitting the ceiling.
